An incident occurred at a bar in Denver between an FBI agent and a bar patron on Saturday, June 2nd. The off-duty FBI Agent was dancing at the bar early Saturday morning when his gun fell and fired into someone’s leg as the agent picked it up.

A video from KMGH shows the incident where the off-duty FBI agent was dancing while surrounded by others in the bar. The agent was attempting a backflip at Mile High Spirits Distillery and Tasting Bar when his gun fell on the floor. As he went to pick it up it accidentally fired into the crowd of people watching him. No one was killed or injured badly. Just one patron was struck by the firing of the weapon. The injured patron was said to be in good condition while being rushed to a nearby hospital.

As of right now, the FBI agent has not been apprehended, so his name has not been released. After the incident he was taken to the Denver Police Headquarters. The Denver Police Department said in a statement, “The incident is being investigated by the Denver Police Homicide Unit and charges will be determined by the Denver District Attorney’s Office.” The police have asked any witnesses if they can provide more information on the subject. It is still unknown as of now if alcohol played a factor in the incident.

After he was taken by the Denver Police Department, the agent was released to an FBI supervisor. The FBI has refused to comment on the situation at this time.

Mile High Spirits Distillery and Tasting Bar responded to the event by saying “It is shocking that the only shooting to ever occur at our establishment came about as a result of an FBI Agent entering our distillery tasting room carrying a loaded firearm without our knowledge, in violation of our rules.”

Mile High Spirits management also want to understand how the incident occurred and plan to speak with the FBI about the agent’s actions.

The Distillery felt guilty about the incident because they always aim to provide “an engaging customer experience, in a fun and safe environment.” To show their support they have given him “complimentary drinks forever” and are wishing him a fast recovery.
