Dew Tour Qualifiers & Highlights

As the 2017 Dew Tour came to an end Sunday evening, history, glory and fame were made all over the five-day period. On December 13, the Dew Tour kicked off starting with ¨Snowboarding Men’s Superpipe.”

As the competition was very large, the top three champions of the category were Ben Ferguson taking 3rd with a score of 92.00, Scotty James taking 2nd with a score of 96.00, and, finally, Jake Pates taking 1st and winning the competition with a score of 97.33.

The next competition was “ Men’s Snowboarding Slopestyle,” the following day. Slopestyle is different because the “Superpipe” is going back and forth hitting the best moves, whereas, the “Slopestyle” is going down the hill and hitting the greatest move while in the air. The three champions for this competition were Mons Roisland taking 3rd with a score of 92.00, in 2nd, Chris Corning with a score of 95.00, and winning the competition was Max Parrot with a score of 97.00. Parrot is 23 years old.

Meanwhile, on the women’s side of the Dew Tour, in “Snowboarding Superpipe,” Chloe Kim crushed the competition with a score of 93.00. Arielle Gold took 3rd with a score of 87.00 and Kelly Clark took 3rd with a score of 90.00. Kim is from Long Beach, CA, and is 17 years old, with a long competition life ahead of her.

Finally in “Women’s SlopeStyle,” 29-year-old Canadian Spencer O’Brien took the top podium spot. She has come a long way and was thrilled to have an Olympic qualifying opportunity like the Dew Tour.

The 2017 Dew tour was a huge success. Next year’s 2018 Dew Tour should provide stronger and harder competition.
